Jishnu Mukerji, Ph.D. Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Computer Science

MURRAY HILL, NJ, August 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Jishnu Mukerji, Senior Systems Architect for Hewlett-Packard Company, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in computer science.
With 28 years of professional experience, Dr. Jishnu Mukerji is known as an expert in enterprise information technology management and systems integration. He works primarily out of HP's Software and Solutions Business Unit where, as senior systems architect, he is responsible for representing Hewlett Packard in various capacities on numerous standards consortia; these include Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards, the Object Management Group, the Distributed Management Task Force, WSI, and Java Community Process. Dr. Mukerji has served on the OMG Architecture Board (where he was the editor of the Model Driven Architecture Guide), the OASIS Technical Advisory Board, and the WSI Liaison Subcommittee. He has also been credited for his contributions to CORBA, J2EE and UML standards. He is also the technical lead within HPSS for designing enterprise management data models for use in configuration management databases to facilitate integration of HP and other enterprise IT management products.
Prior to joining HP, Dr. Mukerji worked at Bell Laboratories and Novell, and was involved in the architecture and implementation of diverse large distributed systems. While at Bell Labs, he was recognized with the Distinguished Technical Staff Award. He considers receiving this honor, along with working with the legendary team that put together UNIX, to be the two highlights of his career. Dr. Mukerji counts himself very fortunate to be working in a field that he loves, and attributes his success to his passion for his profession.
Dr. Mukerji holds a Ph.D. in computer science and a master of science in computer science, both from Stony Brook University, as well as a master of science in physics, earned with honors, from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in his native India. A strong advocate for better transit in the state of New Jersey, he sits on the executive committee of the New Jersey Association of Railroad Passengers and is a member of numerous rail-related groups. Additional affiliations include the Association for Computing Machinery, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the IEEE Computer Society, and the IEEE Standards Association. Dr. Mukerji expects to retire within the next five years, at which point he plans to venture into consulting.
