Michel T. Closson honored with inclusion in 'Industry Experts' book

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, August 12, 2011, Michel T. Closson, Senior Principal Systems Engineer in the Network Centric Systems Division of Raytheon Company, was recently featured in Cambridge Publishing's Top 101 Industry Experts book. The Top Industry Experts reveals the objectives and triumphs prominent Cambridge members have achieved to gain success. Selected from more than 400,000 executives, professionals and entrepreneurs, these exemplary leaders stay at the top of their fields by possessing unique experience and wisdom, all the while exhibiting innovation in their work.

U.S. military-trained Michel T. Closson has taken the high level of integrity he acquired as a soldier and become an upstanding civilian whose paramount concern is the safety of his country and the world at large. Presently the senior principal systems engineer in the Network Centric Systems division of the Raytheon Company, he is responsible for managing three missile defense task orders for exercises and war games, and conducting training worth more than $31 million annually. Additionally, he oversees analytical data and mission systems integration, leads an organization responsible for the deployment of integrated exercise and training environments, and addresses concerns involving the engineering of system-of-systems architecture and mission systems integration. He also works as a member of several integrated-product teams comprised of members from numerous functional disciplines, which include: modeling and simulation, systems analysis, enterprise integration, communications architecture design and infrastructure. Throughout his career, he has led more than 70 contractors of various disciplines through proposal development, contract negotiation, technical planning, program management, design, and the execution and analysis of missile defense exercises, war games and training events.

Mr. Closson enlisted in the Army at the rank of E1 and retired as a chief warrant officer 3. With 20 years of experience in the military, he has developed a mission-focused approach with considerable expertise in completing operations, air and missile defense, program management, system engineering, and problem identification and resolution. He demonstrated his capability to assemble and organize teams for success and possesses the ability to develop complex strategies, and communicate concepts and technical summaries. In 2007, Mr. Closson was presented by the Raytheon Company with Technical Honors and in 2010, Mr. Closson received a technical achievement award from the Air, Space, and Missile Defense Association.

Mr. Closson completed a leadership course in 2007 through Raytheon. In 2004, he obtained Six Sigma certification and received a Master of Science in Space Systems Engineering Management from Webster University. In 2001, he earned a Bachelor of Science in General Sciences, with a concentration in Electronics and Psychology, from Excelsior College. He is a member of the Military Officers Association of America.
