Linda K. Haberaecker Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Linda K. Haberaecker Named IT Education Professional of the Year

DETROIT, MI, October 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda K. Haberaecker, Associate Professor at Davenport University, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in IT Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

A 40-year veteran of academia and information technology, Linda K. Haberaecker specializes in experiential learning and IT education. She joined Davenport University's School of Technology in 1995. As associate professor, she conducts basic computer classes and trains students in applications, web design and programming. Additionally, she serves as an experiential learning liaison for Southeastern Michigan. Respected both on and off campus, Ms. Haberaecker is especially proud to have won for Davenport a Michigan Campus Compact Award in 2009. The following year, Davenport University awarded her with the Tyrus R. Wessell Award for Exemplary Service in honor of the work she has done with her students and the university over the course of the past 28 years. The Tyrus R. Wessell Award is the highest honor Davenport can bestow on a faculty or staff member. Ms. Haberaecker attributes her success to her diligence, faith in God and ability to balance her personal and professional life, and to the support she received from her parents.

Prior to joining Davenport University, Ms. Haberaecker lent her talents to Oakwood Healthcare System as a systems analyst and microcomputer support analyst, to National Tech Team as an instructor, to the American Career Academy as an instructor, and to Cleary College (now Cleary University) as department chairwoman of the business office systems department and adjunct instructor.

Ms. Haberaecker earned her master of education and bachelor of education from Wayne State University. She is a member of the World Organization of Webmasters. When she is not working, she volunteers as a vestry member of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church and raises and trains golden retrievers for obedience trial showing. Within the next five years, she plans to promote experiential learning at Davenport University, develop the technology curriculum, and expand the business IT program.
