The move by Samsung to appoint a global distributor follows the recent merge of NEC & Sony in the Optical market and withdrawal of Maxtor from the Hard Disk Drive market.

"Samsung is committed to the storage market, and this recent appointment confirms our intentions to become a leading player in the industry, commented HJ Song, a sales manager for Samsung Storage Division.
