HIGHTOWER MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN WALK FOR HOPE 2004
/24-7PressRelease.com/ - October 27th, 2004 – Skokie, Illinois – On October 17, 2004, HighTower, an authorized reseller, designer and implementer of accounting and business management technology solutions, participated in its 6th Walk for Hope at the Northwestern University’s lakefront in Evanston, Illinois. The City of Hope foundation organized the charity event to raise money for breast cancer research.
With more than 200,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in women each year, breast cancer has become the second leading cause of death among women. Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer is a family-oriented walk and run – including a 5k timed event and leisure walks - to support breast cancer research, treatment and education at the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
“HighTower and its staff have been involved in this event since our company President's mother lost her battle with breast cancer,” stated Jeff Rosengarden, Chief Executive Officer at HighTower. “We're very proud of the fact that our staff wholeheartedly support this event and continue to increase their support as the years go by.”
Many of HighTower’s employees joined as a team to take part in this annual event. Employees designed a HighTower Team Page on Kintera’s website to track donations. This year, Team HighTower raised over $8000 for this great cause, and was ranked second in company donations for all the company teams listed on Kintera’s event website for the second year in a row.
